100 Years Old SENABAS ESTATE of Famous SEN FAMILY of Late Dr Harimohan Sen .......
This is one of the oldest estates of a Bengali Family who contributed much for the people of Darjeeling and Ghoom (including the Ghoom Boys and Girls school). They initiated the Darjeeling Government College under Dr. Majumdar (a friend of Mr. Arindam Sen). Mr. A. Sen had personally requested the Railways to start the Daily Toy Train from Kurseong to Darjeeling for students only. Although Senabas has been sold to the Government, beautiful memories fade slowly. I Somik Ranjan Roy (s/o of Smt. Sipra Roy, youngest Daughter of Dr. Samarketu Sen, eldest son of Dr Harimohan Sen who purchased the SENABAS Estate in the late 19th Century from a Scotsman) and Wing Commander B. C. Roy, spent many happy days in Darjeeling.
