Located at the middle of Guangzhou, Haizhu District is the sole island district of Guangzhou with a total area of 90.45km2 and a total population of 1.2373 million governs 18 administrative streets. Urban function of Haizhu District has successfully changed from a traditional industrial district into a new modern district with dominant residences, commercial service industry, finance, tourism, warehouse, transport and hi-tech industry without pollution and with coordinate development. It has become one of Guangzhou’s new central urban areas. Haizhu District has 12 bridges across the Pearl River and is a vital passage to other cities and counties at the Pearl River Delta, Shenzhen and Zhuhai special economic zones.
