Waterproofing Northern Adelaide: Enhancing Wynn Vale Dam
The City of Tea Tree Gully will be undertaking maintenance and refurbishment
works at Wynn Vale Dam, which will improve water quality as well as enhance the visual
appeal of the wetland.

The works will include the removal of accumulated sediment, construction of a rock
wall for bank stability and erosion control, as well as the installation of litter traps. These traps will capture gross pollutants such as
plastics and paper, before they enter the dam.

“These enhancement works will rejuvenate Wynn Vale Dam, and will enable locals and
visitors alike to enjoy it for many years to come,” City of Tea Tree Gully Mayor Miriam
Smith said. This work is scheduled for commencement
in late February/early March 2008, with completion by the end of March.
Following these works, landscaping and revegetation will take place at selected areas
around the dam in April/May 2008 (subject to
seasonal conditions).
