This is where the planned tower above The Podium will rise. That explains the name "Podium"
because it will be a (retail) podium for the tower.

That also explains why Podium strangely has 7-levels of underground parking space. Too big you may say for a mall of that size, until you realize that it's also for the 55-storey (maximum, as the foundation had been designed for) tower.

The Podium is actually a mixed-use project, a joint venture between SM and Keppel Land of Singapore. It was originally planned to have a retail, residential, serviced apartments (hotel), and office components spread over three towers, two 55-storey towers and a 70+ storey tower in the middle, all three of them angled diagonally from the road.

It was downsized so the current structure can only handle the first of the three towers, a 55-storey tower, which according to latest news from Keppel Land will most likely be a 35-storey residential condominium, even if the foundation can handle up to 55 floors.

Entrance to this yet-to-be-built tower will be at what is currently the UCC Vienna Café. So it will have it's own drop-off area and entrance lobby separate from The Podium mall.

The New Main Office of BDO is now Under Construction which has 42 floors to extend.
