Grand funereal monument on the grounds of Castle Howard. Generations of the Howard family have been buried in the crypt beneath. Inspired by the works of Andrea Palladio, the tomb of Hadrian & the paintings of Claude Lorrain. By Sir John Vanburgh this is one of the most important works of 18th century british architecture and has influenced many subsequent architects.
