- Date added to NRHP: 1/3/2001
- Other designations: U.S. National Historic Landmark; part of the Rocky Mountain National Park Multiple Property Submission; listed on the Colorado State Register of Historic Properties
- Notes: This building was designed and constructed as part of the National Park Service’s "Mission 66" program, of which the park visitor center was the central planning and design element. The Administration Building is one of the four most significant and successful examples of the new building type. Designed by Taliesin Associated Architects, Frank Lloyd Wright’s successor firm, the building became a national showcase for the Mission 66 program. The use of Wright-influenced design in a national park setting further legitimized the use of modern architecture in the parks.
