Hale County Airport is a public airport located about 1 mile (1.6 km) south-southwest of Plainview, Texas. As of 2016, the airport does not have regular airline service.

The airport provided powered glider training for the United States Army Air Force between 1942 and 1944. After deactivation, the field was established as a civil airport in 1946. Plainview hosted regularly scheduled airline service during the 1950s and early 60s, with operations by Pioneer Air Lines, Central Airlines, and Continental Airlines at various times. The field was frequently used for flight training by the squadrons stationed at Reese AFB until its closing in 1997.

The field also had an operating FAA control tower until the early 1980s when the PATCO strike resulted in a number of closed facilities, including PVW. Today the field is most frequently used by general aviation, including a fair bit of turboprop and jet traffic. The USAF periodically uses the airfield for flight training purposes.
