  • Along with the present Showa-no-mori golf course, the portion of the company that is adjacent to the railroad tracks of the JR Ome Line, constituted the USAF's Showa Air Station. The base reverted to the Japanese government in February 1961.
  • The building in the SE corner is a Harley Dealership
  • Yokota Aero Club had several Cessna 140s and Aeronca 7ACs based at Showa when I arrived at Tachikawa AB in 1959. I had several flying lessons at Showa in the fall of '59. When I resumed flying in 1960 the club had moved to Chofu airport. As near as I can remember the runway at Showa was PSP. It would be great if someone could come up with photos of the Showa airstrip.
