The pine forest before the revolution belonged to the employers Kuvayevs. The park was founded in 1940. The Dam on the Talka river was built in 1949 and formed a large reservoir, which holds up to 900,000 m3 of water. On the shore was arranged beach, open boat station. In the park a botanical gardens of the Ivanovo University are located.
