This is the location of the town of Point Pleasant as shown on the 1891 USGS "Quarantine" map. It, like many other communities in Southern Plaquemines parish were destroyed in the Cheniere Caminada Hurricane of 1893 and never recovered. The Point Pleasant cemetery is just south of this location.
