This place was used as a stone pit many years ago, the pit heaps being formed like a mountain range. The territory also posesses some suffosion hollows. These factors along with specific sandy loam created a very valuable dry-field plant societies with the additions of steppe flora. Well-drained cretaceous sands (exposing here) mainly determine the characterictic of fields with the plants like trifolium montanum, fragaria viridis, dianthus fischerii, coronilla varia, campanula persicifolia and even phleum phleoides (typical southern specie).

For the territorial rarity and value the so-called High-Land Country was declared a natural monument in 1987.
