The church of St. Bartholomew's on Clyde Road, was consecrated in 1867. Many of its original features are intact, such as the sanctuary mosaics and the elaborate wrought iron choir screen. The architect was Thomas Wyat. The church has always been known for its High Anglican liturgical tradition.

The church is also celebrated for its fine music. The choir, comprising about 40 choristers in all, is made up of men and boys. In addition, a choir of some 12 girl choristers has recently been inaugurated to sing Evensong twice monthly on Sundays at 6:00pm with the men of the choir. The choir of men and boys sings on Sundays at the 11:00am Sung Eucharist, as well on major festivals throughout the Church year. The church is home to a magnificant three manual organ.
