Mainly used for horse riding events up until 2005, when Leinster Rugby became one the main tenants. Initially viewed by Leinster Rugby as a stop-gap measure during the renovation of the nearby Donnybrook stadium, it instead became their preferred home ground. The stadium capacity for Rugby events is 18,500.
