Molundae, with lush forests and a beautiful sandy beach, was known since ancient times.

In the 16th century, the area used to be just a small island that was only accessible by boat. By a natural phenomena caused by the accumulation of sedimentation of sand from the Nakdong River, sand accumulated until the island became a peninsula connected to Dadaepo Beach.

Magma stone and fossils over 80 million years old can been seen here now. The area is a habitat for wild animals and birds, including naive birds, and more than 90 hardwood species.

Dadaepo Gaeksa, a building for banquets and welcoming diplomats, remains the only building in the area which has historical significance. Dadaepo Gaeksa is Busan Designated Tangible Cultural Property #3, restored to the original position in 1970
