Urbino is a walled city in the Marche region in Italy, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Urbino is known for having been the birthplace of renaissance artist Raphael Sanzio, usually known by his first name alone (in Italian Raffaello).

  • The notoriously Italian artist, Raphaello, was born here in Urbino. The main road in the town is Via Raphaello. It's a wonderful place. The people are welcoming and hospitable. Bus rides to nearby beaches Pesaro and Fano are cheap and efficient. Many great options for restaurants here... I strongly recommend Tre Piante. As far as nightlife, Il Portico is quite nice. To enter the pub, you walk down a flight of stairs and the bar is essentially underground. In the middle of the pub, there's a charming courtyard.
