Between 1985 until 1992 this was the main international terminal of Cengkareng airport. It used to serve Garuda's long distance flight as well foreign carriers. When the operation moved to Terminal 2, the terminal briefly became vacant before being used to then burgeoning Sempati Air. But when the airline went bankrupt in 1998, it returned back to vacant before being occupied by Lion Air.
