Magerøya, a magical island in Trondheimsleia.
Seafarers have sought shelter in Magerøy harbour throughout the ages, pilgrims, pirates and adventurers.
Magerøya was established as a trading post in 1684, with a royal innkeeper's licence and a duty to provide travellers with food and shelter, and good ale and brandy.
Today, the island is a national recreation area with a rich animal- and bird life. The new proprietor has revived the old traditions of hospitality and guests are welcomed with open arms, good food and drink. We invite you to experience this enchanted cultural landscape and listen to spellbinding tales of masters and servants, ghosts and pirates.
