Designated by the Municipality as part of the Al-Mina area, but eventually this area became distinct as the Tourist Club Area or simply The Tourist Club - Named after the former recreational club that existed but now sadly demolished for the purpose of a development project "The Quay" by TDIC. It is situated to the east of Al Salam Street and north of the UAE Navy HQ. It used to be a slum part of Abu Dhabi, but because of the increase in housing prices around the city, many families with higher income started to move in and call this place home. It is also home to some of the best Egyptian shisha places in Abu Dhabi. Landmarks include Abu Dhabi Mall and Le Meridian Hotel (which can be used with taxis in the city).
