  • This School was meant to be by God! Bishop Springer was led by God as his pilot to start the school at this place. I provides more pastors for The Democratic Republic of the Congo than any other Seminary. God provides through us who have seen His light. blessings, Ed Long
  • I was a volonteer teacher there from 1971-1973 with the Mennonite Central Committee. Many fond memories of my days at Mulungwishi. I managed to sing in the church choir while I was there. The new mine up the road at Tenke-Fungarume was being developed by the Japanese. Lot's of things going on. learned how to bake bread and make great vanilla ice cream from Doris Bartlett, great Kentucky fried chicken from Dot Davis, and how to make great craked wheat bread from bulgar wheat kernals by the Swiss Methodist Missionaries there with me. Mobutu had changed the name of the country to Zaire and I knew it was important thet my students get with the program to change their names to non-western names, as well as learn the new national anthem, so made every effort to make that happen. In addition to producing all those pastors mentioned, the secondary school has produced more scholarship recipients to national and foreign universities than any other school in the Congo.
