Oatley Park is a public recreation area since 25th of March 1887. It protects examples of natural environment. There is a swimming area, a playground, lookouts, BBQs, a Football/Cricket Oval, a castle, as well as native bushlands. Man-made wetlands provide refuge for bird species, such as, chestnut teal, Pacific black ducks, dusky moorhens and purple swamphens.
