  • The name we remember is better transcribed in English as Bhogumorrhlya (my apologies for being less than perfect), suggesting that one Bhogu (Bhagirath?) Mandal's name must be associated with it. Alas, this quaint little pond is not always treated with the respect that its association demands, except during Chandithan days when the surrounding path suddenly comes to life with eager children and elders going towards or coming back from the Mela. The other neighbouring pond is Atchala. It contains the ruins of a temple like structure, said to be the samadhi of Sri Lakshman Mahaprabhu, one of the ancestors of the Mahaprabhu family. It is surrounded by trees and the remnants of a garden which has seen its best days.
