The Old Town of UAQ, also known to the locals as "el-bilad"
this portion of the city, which is covered by water on three sides and a historic wall on its western side, contains some of the oldest and perfectly maintained structures in the UAE like the Fort/Museum, the oldest mosque of UAQ, the dhow building yard, and other historic houses that used to be owned by the local families that moved towards new neighborhoods outside the city walls at the beginning of the union of the UAE
Unfortunately, the rulers of the UAQ currently show no interest into restoring most of those buildings and this might severely damage this historical area

  • you said it right. it's just pathetic how the UAE is ignoring its heritage in favor of trying to 'westernize' itself. to add insult to injury, those same stinking, street-spitting, non-bathing expats who live in those historic areas don't give a damn about how precious their place is...
  • if u dont like it...just fuck off and get out from there...! noob ass apache
