Formerly the main shipbuilding site for BIW, Slipways A, B & C were largely abandoned as a main shipbuilding site following the completion of the Land-Level Construction Facility.
Used for a time as a construction and staging area for modular hull forms, the slipways were eventually deemed superfluous and demolition work began to remove the 100+ year old structures in late 2011. Once removed, the former slipway site will be graded and reused as a platform storage, service building and support activities site for the shipyard.
