Baguio

Philippines / Cordillera / Baguio /
city, capital city of state/province/region, second-level administrative division

Baguio, officially the City of Baguio (Ibaloi: Ciudad ne Bag-iw; Ilokano: Siudad ti Baguio; Tagalog: Lungsod ng Baguio) and popularly referred to as Baguio City, is a mountain resort city located in Northern Luzon, Philippines. It is known as the Summer Capital of the Philippines, owing to its cool climate since the city is located approximately 4,810 feet (1,470 meters) above mean sea level, often cited as 1,540 meters (5,050 feet) in the Luzon tropical pine forests ecoregion, which also makes it conducive for the growth of mossy plants and orchids.

  • The Lion's Head is located at Barangay Camp 4, Tuba, Benguet; and is actually distant from the City of Baguio. It is just unfortunate that the Municipality of Tuba is not associated with this famous landmark... So, should it be deleted ?

  • Whoever is responsible in giving negative votes even to the good comments I dare you create an account and speak up. This is unacceptable. :-(
  • i visited this Beautiful city in june 2008
  • During the 60's and 70's, this place is almost free from polution, my dad together with the rest of the family used to drive , spent some days and enjoy our vacation. Now a days, it's becoming polluted (like Quiapo) and at times, having a water shortage. Government should implement sharper teeth as far as implementing anti-pollution law to preserve clean air, water and earth. Lets all help hand in hand to make the Baguio better once again. • me and my friend is planning to try to stay in Baguio by 2nd week of July. hope somebody could help us find at least room for rent, give us an idea how much is the minimum salary there, and what are the job opportunities there. i worked as an accounting staff, now in call center(non voice account) and my friend is medical assistant.
  • if youre going to have a transient house rented, check the security of the house/place/compound. had a bad experience by not checking it because its our 2nd time to stay there and were sure that its safe. but not! just be safe! and enjoy the cold weather.
  • I just hope that the local & national government will do something to maintain and improve the deteriorating condition of “Baguio”, the most visited & well known summer capital of the Phil. It is over populated which ruined the entire picture of the beautiful place. It’s not too late to rehabilitate & restore the natural beauty of its nature. I appeal to the people of Baguio to help make it happen & be proud again of our own.
  • i wish the garbage is not coming

  • Baguio is deteriorating. Too much development makes trees dwindle and temperature increases. And also there is increase of population due to migration. Our gov't should come up with a solution to preserve the beauty of Baguio.
