Desa Gayam, a. k. a. Pekon Gayam, a small village in South-Lampung province and under the sub-district of Penengahan, is geographically located in the most southern part of Sumatra Island around 5o 47’ S and 105o 41’ E of Indonesia. The area is sited in approximately 400s ft from sea level and mainly contains of green plantation, rice fields, and a relatively dense unstructured housing pattern. Since most of its inhabitant are farmers, the main commodity produced in this village are coffee, rice, pepper, fruits (banana, coconut, and durian), and other plantation results. Furthermore, the village is populated by mostly Lampungese, small amount of Javanese, or Sundanese, and is Islamite.
