Manila American Cemetery and Memorial is dedicated to all the soldiers and of the US Army who lost their lives during the second world war. Located about six miles away from Manila, Manila American Cemetery and Memorial is housed within the premises of Fort Bonifacio. Situated on a prominent plateau the cemetery is the heavenly abode of more than 17,000 US soldiers. Many of these soldiers died while fighting for USA at New Guinea and the Philippines.

The rectangular trani limestone piers at Manila American Cemetery and Memorial lists the name of the unknown and unidentified US soldiers whose bodies could never be found. The American Battle Monuments Commission plays a major role behind the upkeep of the cemetery at Manila American Cemetery and Memorial.
