The arsenal of chemical weapon is full-scale manufacture on destruction especially dangerous фосфороорганических substances нервнопаралитического influences.
5447 tons are stored in its arsenals since 1941 (13,6 % from the general stock) highly toxic fighting poison gases - sarin and V-V-gases with which are filled by 2 million cases of ammunition ствольной and rocket artillery.

In 1997 Russia ratified the international convention on prohibition of the chemical weapon.
The EAR "Pike" is the fifth object which has begun the work on destruction of the chemical weapon within the limits of the international conventional obligations. On December, 28th, 1996 according to the Federal target program "Destruction of stocks of the chemical weapon in the Russian Federation" has been published the order of the government of Russian Federation N 1949-r about creation in territory of Shchuchansky area of the Kurgan region of object on destruction of the chemical weapon.
On May, 29th, 2009 official opening of the first stage of factory on destruction of the chemical weapon has taken place.
As of December, 25th, 2010 1 725 377, 065 kg of poison gas of type sarin, 731 731 ammunition are destroyed.

The object shares on territory of direct storehouses and a so-called industrial zone - a platform on which there is a factory on destruction of the chemical weapon.
The industrial zone takes place on removal of 20 km from a zone of storage (arsenal) of chemical ammunition. Delivery of chemical ammunition in an industrial zone is carried out by railway transportation.
The industrial zone basis is made by the product lines placed in two main industrial cases on which in completely automatic mode and with high level of safety extraction of poison gases from cases of chemical ammunition, detoxication ОВ with последущей asphalt grouting, decontamination, deformation of cases and their high-temperature heat treatment is carried out. During recycling of poison gases щучанского an arsenal it is supposed to receive 32 thousand tons of a bitumno-salt mix of 3-4th class of danger and 50 thousand tons of the alloyed steel.
First of all the ammunition equipped with sarin are destroyed.

The first starting complex includes the basic industrial case 1А, installation of thermal processing of a firm and liquid waste in industrial case N 1 and auxiliary buildings and constructions of all industrial zone. The second starting complex provides end of building of industrial case N 1 with installation of the additional equipment providing cumulative capacity of object to 1700 tons of poison gases in year.
