Poitiers American High School occupied this location in a facility built as a wartime hospital during the 1950's. Several hundred American youth who were military dependents (primarily US Army) attended this Department of Defense High School. Many of us still have fond memories of our school years in Poitiers, the military caserne near Notre Dame des Dunes, and the bus rides to our home locations throughout southern France.
