Shahzad Dam is located in the outskirts of Lalitpur in Uttar Pradesh. Built in 1992 across the Shahzad River, a tributary of the Jamini River, this dam is a major source for irrigation in Lalitpur District. A main canal of 44 km has been constructed to provide irrigation. It took about 19 years for the completion of this dam. 18 m high and 4160 m long, Shahzad Dam is a major tourist attraction in the region. The famous Govind Sagar Dam is the nearby attraction. The nearest airport is at Gwalior.
