Al Shareif Yagoub is one of grate Sudanese villages . It is located in Gazera State Um el goura locality. It is lies on the east of the Blue Nile on the eastern bank of the seasonal river, Rahad. It located 38 km, east of Wad Medani. It lies in arid and semi arid climatic zones, It refer to El shareif yagoub the one who consisted it since El Fong Saltana that means in 1500s. Form that time El Shareif Yagoub considers as a corner stone for the surrounding village and to the Rahad Agriculture Scheme. During Rahad Agriculture Scheme establishment in the early of 1968s all the staffs of Rahad implementation have been stayed at Al shareif yagoub till Rahad Villages and offices were built. The main tribes are Ashraf, Galeen, Rufaa een , Shukryia , lahaween and some Halaween . But the dominant tribe is Ashraf . The majority of people work as farmer in Rahad Scheme The population was estimated to be 15000 persons . the family size 6-10 ,
