Russian Orthodox Church, 1889_construction, Orthodox church
On August 28, 1889, the Ascension Church of Our Lady was consecrated by one of the best known Orthodox leaders in Latvia, Archbishop Arsenijs. Its architect was V. A. Lunsky, the then diocesan architect. It was the first "tent-like" church in Kurzeme province.
