One of the Mississippi River delta passes. Not used for navigation.
Originally in 1840 settlers dug a small channel just south of Venice. The river broke thru a few years later and quickly enlarged the channel, making it a permanent pass. It was named "The Jump" and later renamed Grand Pass.
