History of Development

Mosque jamik Panembahan Somala or better known as the Mosque Jamik Sumenep is one the oldest buildings and 10 mosques have a distinctive architecture in the archipelago. Sumenep Jamik mosque has now become one of the landmarks on the island of Madura. Built In Somala Panembahan government, the State authorities Sungenep XXXI, built after the construction of Sumenep palace complex, the same architect that Lauw Piango.
According to historical records Sumenep, Sumenep Jamik Mosque Development began in 1779 AD and was completed in 1787 AD. This building is one of the supporters of the Palace building, as a place of worship for the family of the Palace and Society, this mosque is the second mosque built by the royal family, which previously mosque complex is right behind the palace, better known by the name of the mosque built by Kanjeng rate R. Ario Tumenggung Anggadipa, ruler Sumenep XXI.
