In 1969 the hotel was called "Intourist":
"In 1969, the artist Mikhail Tabolkin brought five sketches to the Primorsky Gallery in a very poor condition. All were signed - "Каль", English: Kal'. He literally found these works in a landfill, - says Svetlana Rusnak. - The Intourist Hotel, which is now called Versailles, was renovated and the dilapidated moldy paintings were simply thrown into a landfill. "Study with a maple and a hut" has a restoration passport No. 1. This means that the restoration workshop in Vladivostok began work with the work of Karl Nikolaevich Kal'."
