The Barrage du Sablier

2km (1 mile) upstream of Argentat was commissioned on 1957. This gravity type dam was built to balance and regulate the flow of the others. In effect the Sablier dam helps to improve the efficiency of the reservoir of the Chastang Dam further upstream. It has a height of 31 metres (100 feet) and a capacity of 7.2 million cubic metres.
