Koenigsbronn

Germany / Baden-Wurttemberg / Konigsbronn /
 village, karst

Koenigsbronn is a town with approx. 7500 inhabitants (including the villages of Itzelberg, Ochsenberg and Zang which are part of the communal administrative area). The little town has had some quite exciting developments in its history, starting from a castle of robber-knights, a hugely influencial monastery, industrial history (metallurgy) up untill the first person to attempt to assassin Hitler, Georg Elser. It lies in a valley of the Swabian Alb, a landscape that is shaped by karst (limestone). "Koenigsbronn" means "Kings's Spring". The Spring of the River Brenz lies right next to the historic town hall.
