Long stay facility for those with intellectual disabilities and with long term mental illnesses. Founded 1896 (as Portrane Asylum), it has been repeatedly scaled back until only the acute care facility (in the northwest portion of the property) is still open, and as of 2013 even that may be closed or re-purposed. Many different plans are on the table.
