Historic neighbourhood just outside of the former Cidade de Cimento (town made of concrete). Birthplace of the most famous Mozambican poet, José Craveirinha, and of the best Mozambican soccer star Eusebio de Silva Ferreira. Samora Machel and Joaquim Chissano, former Presidents of Mozambique, as well as the former Prime Minister Pascoal Mucumbi have all lived in this neighbourhood for some time. It was a hotspot during the liberation figth and the struggle for independence.
