Twycross Zoo was founded in 1963 and has the largest primate collection in the world, including breeding populations of bonobos, chimpanzees, gorillas, and orang-utans, along with large numbers of monkey and lemur species. The zoo also holds collections of many other animals - many on the endangered lists.
