reason of calling :
The reason for the name is due to the fact that there is a person who came from the village of Umm Talha who was working as a farmer in this area, and he was called (Al-Ta’if) and thus the village was called by that name.
Village history:
The history of the village dates back to before the emergence of the project, about 70 years ago, and the number of the village’s population is currently about 2,850, according to the last population census, and they are dominated by the youth component, where young people constitute 60% of the total people of the village
The current location of the village:
The village is located in the southwest of the city of Al-Manaqil, about 12 km away from it, and it is about 775 meters above sea level. It has an area of ​​about 504,000 meters and is located at 32.54° longitude and 14.05° latitude. The village is famous for the cultivation of maize, bambi, lentils, onions..etc. Rescue assumed the authority, and among the institutions in which it operates is the Taif Village Council, which was established at the beginning of the project’s entry by the English officer Ashardox, who set the system for all the project’s villages and unites the village with a basic school for boys and girls.
Cultural legacy:
Hafir al-Taif, which is a place for the collection of autumn water in the north of the village, next to the cemeteries, nowadays.

It provides social services at the village level and provides free courses for basic certificate students and is in the process of doing computer courses to eradicate technical illiteracy in the village.

A medical clinic, because there is no medical center in the village, and the village needs to build a secondary school and build some agricultural roads. The village needs to complete the existing football field, and the village needs to expand the structural plan of the village because there are no suitable places for construction in the current plan, due to the increase in the population and the need Youth sector to new homes
