GrodnoGrodno or Hrodna (Russian: Гродно, IPA: ['grodnə]; Belarusian: Гро́дна, IPA: ['ɣrodna]; Polish: Grodno, Latin: Grodna; Lithuanian: Gardinas, German: Garten between 1942-1944), is a city in Belarus. It is located on the Neman River, close to the borders of Poland and Lithuania (about 20 km and 30 km away respectively). It has 325,164 inhabitants (2008 estimate). It is the capital of Grodno oblast (province) and Grodno raion (district).
