Kitzlochklamm

Austria / Salzburg / Bruck an der Grossglocknerstrasse /
canyon / gorge, waterfall, interesting place

The narrow canyon is close to Taxenbach. Just follow the signs while reaching the Eastern end of the village. Travelling on Highway 311, it's easy to find. Best to be there early at 8.00 am. Later in the day an electrical power plant takes water from the current, so there might be less water visible. The "Rauriser Ache" is rushing down the steep rock walls of the narrow canyon and immortalized in numerous photographs; the ceaselessly drumming falls are crashing to the ground from Rauris in several cascades. It is especially imposing in spring after the snow melts and after thunder storms in summer.
