Voronezh preserve, it is located in 40 km to s. from Voronezh. Area 30,8 thousand GA (1969). It is created into 1927 for retention and restoring the number of river beavers in the USSR. Subsequently into the tasks v.p. protection and study of entire natural complex entered. V. p. it occupies the large part Of the Usman forest tract, growing on the sandy deposits among the [raznotravno]-[tipchakovo]- feathergrass steppe. Over its territory flow [Usman] and [Ivnitsa] - inflows of Voronezh, floodlands of which are occupied with damp alders and osier beds. Plant cover v.p. it is represented by a sufficiently complete ecological number of the types of forest - from the dry lichen the flue through sub-yell and oak grove to the swampy alders. Are located small, the uncommon for the wooded plain [sfagnovye] swamps of relict nature with the cotton grass, by cranberry and by sundew. From animals they are usual beaver, noble deer, roe, moose, block, hares (hare and white hare), forest marten, squirrel, badger, desman is encountered. From v.p. in different regions of the USSR to 1969 are settled more than 2300 beavers, 1300 noble deer even 200 Kabanovs. In 1932 with v.p. beaver farm for breeding and studying the beavers under the conditions of the volary content was created; are developed basic questions of free and [fermovogo] [breeding the beavers], the technology of the migration of valuable hunting animals, the number of the questions of the dynamics of plant cover in connection with the climatic and anthropogenic factors is investigated, biological stability and the protection of forest from wreckers and others.
