This is behind the town hall of Motihari. In the past, it was known as Belbanwa due to the high concentration of Bell trees. When Gayatri Mandir was made the name was changed to Gayatri Nagar to reflect the adjacency. This is an old place and it has pleasant environment. The Motijheel runs parallel to this neighbourhood.
