Hamburg's planetarium is one of the oldest world-wide.

Constructed by architect Fritz Schumacher 1912-1915, the building first served as water tower, however it soon lost its primary function.

On April 30, 1930, the new planetarium opened. It's been open since then without interruption.
A renovation in 2003 once again brought state-of-the-art technology to the building.

Hindenburgstraße 1, 22303 Hamburg.
