Buka is the second largest island in the Bougainville/North Solomon Province/Autonomous Region of Papua New Guinea. It has an area of 492 square kilometres (190 square miles). The main town, Buka, on the south coast, is the temporary capital of the Autonomous Region of Bougainville (North Solomons Province), Papua New Guinea.
