  • The Church of Saint Sauveur in Rouen was owned by Count Alan Rufus, second son of Count Eudon of Brittany. In 1066x1067, Alan donated this, and the Church of Sainte Croix des Pelletiers (which had been a gift from his cousin Duke William II of Normandy), to the Abbey of St Ouen, with William's assent. Alan's distant heir, Arthur III of Richemont, step-brother to King Henry V of England, is called "the predecessor, companion and successor of Joan of Arc". Arthur forcefully reformed France's royal finances and military training along Breton lines, and, as Constable of France, drove the English out of Paris and Normandy.
