Ölbő

First recorded in 1254. Its Turkic name derives from a word meaning a clan dignitary. The church was dedicated to Bishop St. Nicholas. Ölbő is the native place of the once famous Eölbey family. Abt. 800 inhabitants. On the outskirts carbonic acid gas has been found and pebbles are quarried.
