Zion Lutheran Church, founded in 1859, is the oldest Lutheran Church in Des Moines. The building itself is quite new, with the newest parts being completed in 2007. Zion is a member congregation of Lutheran Congregations in Mission for Christ (LCMC) and the ELCA. Zion has worship services at 8am (traditional) and 9:30am (contemporary) and 10:30am (contemporary). It is a vibrant congregation with around 1200 members.
