Rendova is an island, part of the New Georgia group, in the Western Province of the Solomon Islands. Two indigenous languagesare spoken on Rendova: the Austronesian language Ughele in the north, and the Papuan language Touo in the south. The black-sand beaches along the SW coast of Rendova are an important nesting ground for the critically endangered leatherback turtle.
